Deborah C. Escalante

MSc Physiotherapist

Andrew began his career in the Health and Fitness over 25 years ago. His journey began when he became one of the first students in Scotland to complete an HND in Health and Fitness. Further to studying he was working with clients delivering fitness classes to groups and personal training to a growing list of clients, some of whom he continues to work with to this day.

He became a Chartered Physiotherapist in 2005 where he gained exceptional experience working with high level professional athletes; working as lead physiotherapist in professional Ice Hockey, Premier league football, Rugby and Scotland’s only physio working with professional MMA/ UFC fighters both as a coach and treating and management of trauma.

Andrew continues to deliver the best possible ethical care and treatment to his clients. He remains as committed to education and self-development within his profession as he was 25 years ago.

GRoup FITNESS

Group exercise is for those of us who like the buzz of a class environment.

It has been found that exercising with others increases the endorphin hormones to make us feel better during physical exertion.

A recent study from Oxford (dead posh!) where rowers were tested after a vigorous workout in a virtual boat revealed that those who trained alone felt more pain than those who exercised together.

All Group exercise classes are carried out to current, motivational music, making the activities more bearable and fun.

With such a breadth of classes on the market at the moment it can be daunting to know which class is for you. Make sure you strike the balance by ensuring that all components of fitness are covered – working the heart and lungs (cardiovascular fitness) / muscles and joints (musco skeletal fitness) as well as ensuring that our bodies stay flexible and supple.

Participating in a variety of classes will ensure that you stay interested and your body stays “surprised” each time you come to work out.

Redballs Group Exercise classes are taught in Callachans Health & Therapy Studio, West Sanquhar Road, Ayr / Ayr’s Premier Health Club, Ayr / or local Halls. Many of these classes can be paid on a pay as you go basis.

Personal Training

Personal Training is all about staying motivated and getting the results you want.

It’s also about having someone with you to guide you through a programme that’s been designed specifically with YOU in mind, allowing you to achieve your goals.

The Personal Training that I offer can be carried out in the intimacy of Callachans Exercise and Therapy Studio, West Sanquhar Road, Ayr where you will have exclusive use of a friendly, well-appointed gym and exercise studio. Or if you’re more of an outdoors kind of a person and shudder at the thought of entering the gym environment then your gym is right on your doorstep. No need for fancy treadmills and stepping machines – we can train outdoors and learn to walk or run as nature intended (not a revolving pavement in sight). Utilising the environment around you will make you see the potential that lies right outside your front door! All you need to do is turn up and leave the creativity to me!

Your training will be personal with a big, fat capital P!

It will be varied! It will keep you interested and it will be as challenging as you want it to be! My aim is to make you feel stronger, energised, leaner, more flexible and agile so that YOU can enjoy life to the full.

During our initial get together we will look at your current lifestyle,

your past exercise experiences, your successes and your flops, the things you love to do and the things that turn you right off! We will build a picture of YOU and the things YOU are and look at where YOU want to be! Then we will look at what you eat (argh!)… NO!!!Not the food bit!!! What we fuel our bodies with can go a long way in helping us achieve our goals.
