Directions for use: To help repair damaged skin and fins and to replace slime coating: Add 10 ml per 10 U.S. gallons (38 L) of aquarium water. To remove chlorine and neutralize chloramines: Add 5 ml per 10 U. S. gallons (38 L) of aquarium water. TIP: Use Stress Zyme to assure good water quality, an efficient biological filter and a healthy and clean aquatic environment. Stress Coat is not a medication, nor is it intended to be a substitute for any medication. For ornamental fish use only. Not to be used on fish intended for human consumption. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN

Stress coat has two main functions.

1) It dechlorinates your water (and lock-up/chelates harmful heavy metals) so it is safe for your fish to live in.

2) Stress coat replenishes your fish’s protective “slime coat” to reduce the effect of stress on you fish….hence the brand name “stress coat”. Most products containing Aloe Vera will do this.

How slim coats help illness and shock. http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aquarium/slimecoat.php

Yes, its basically water conditioner I will admit but it does help with illness and provides a slime coat which if you look deeper into reduces stress for the fish.

I do hope this helps.

WHY USE STREE COAT?

Instantly removes chlorine and chloramines

Detoxifies heavy metals from tap water

Reduces fish stress

Protects fish and heals fish wounds

STRESS COAT completely neutralizes and removes chlorine, chloramines and the ammonia associated with the chloramines, to make tap water safe for pond fish.

STRESSCOAT contains the healing power of Aloe Vera, and a slime replenisher to reduce fish stress. High stress levels can cause fish to lose their slime coat and be more susceptible to disease.

STRESS COAT also promotes the healing of damaged skin and fins and wounds. Use whenever tap water is added to the pond, when adding fish or when fish are injured.
